Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the MenuMax iOS app and getmenumax.com, operated by Shipmate Systems LLC (“we,” “us”). By using MenuMax you agree to them. If you downloaded MenuMax from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.
What MenuMax is — and isn’t
MenuMax reads restaurant menus with your camera and uses artificial intelligence to rank dishes for your stated tastes and to flag dishes that may conflict with your stated allergies or dietary preferences.
MenuMax is an informational tool, not a guarantee. Menu text is incomplete: kitchens change recipes, menus omit ingredients, and cross-contamination is invisible to any menu reader. Our assessments are AI-generated inferences from menu text and general culinary knowledge, and they can be wrong in both directions. A dish marked “Safe for you” means we found no conflict in what we read — it is not a promise that the dish is safe to eat. A flag means “likely contains — ask your server to confirm,” and that instruction is the product working as intended.
If you have a serious allergy, always confirm directly with the restaurant before ordering. MenuMax is not a substitute for that conversation, and it is not medical advice. Never rely solely on MenuMax for any decision that could affect your health.
Dish photos are representative, AI-generated images of what a dish typically looks like — they are not photos of the actual dish at the actual restaurant.
Your account
You need an account to use MenuMax, created via Sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your account to yourself and use MenuMax only for its intended personal purpose. You may not reverse engineer the service, scrape it, abuse the scan pipeline, or use MenuMax in violation of law.
Subscriptions
MenuMax offers a limited number of free scans, then requires a subscription (MenuMax Pro), billed through your Apple ID at the prices shown in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Trials, where offered, convert to paid unless cancelled before the trial ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies.
Restaurant data
Restaurant identification and related listing data are provided by Google. Restaurant names, menus, and dishes belong to their respective restaurants; MenuMax reads and assesses them and claims no affiliation with or endorsement by any restaurant.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
MenuMax is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shipmate Systems LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, or loss arising from reliance on MenuMax’s assessments, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
You can stop using MenuMax and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll update them here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
